Do I need a permit to use the Mickelson Trail? If so, where can I get that permit?

Answer

The Mickelson Trail does require a permit. Daily Permits: $4 daily (required per person ages 12 and over) and Annual Permits: $15 (required per person ages 12 and over). There are 15 trailheads, all of which offer parking, self-sale trail pass stations, vault toilets, and tables. All information is located on the SD Game Fish & Parks website www.gfp.sd.gov or you can call 605-584-3896.
